Children’s Ministries

In the gospel according to Matthew, Jesus says, “Let the little children come to me.” Children have relationships with God and it is our responsibility as a faith community to nourish those relationships. At FCC, children are a valued part of our community and are always welcomed. We encourage children to be a part of weekly worship as well as community gatherings and our outreach to the community. One of the special gifts of our small congregation is an inter-generational environment for children to experience the beauty of all ages. We do also provide special, special age appropriate opportunities for children to develop their faith.

CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS

Our children’s Sunday school class meets weekly at 9:00 a.m. Children come together to learn the stories of the Bible and how to apply them to their daily lives. In Sunday school, the children spend time together and do activities, crafts, and projects which help them grow in their understanding about God. In this “one room Sunday School” all the ages are together to create community and relationships between all our children. Older children and younger children build relationships as they help each other. The class meets in the children’s room on the Sanctuary level.

Currently, the children are learning how to Live B.I.G. where they see, hear, and learn to live their Belief In God.

CHILDREN’S BULLETINS

While children are encouraged to participate in all parts of the weekly worship service, we know sometimes it helps for their hands to be busy as they listen. For this reason, we provide special activity packets for their use during the worship service.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Each summer, along with the other churches in the Lemoyne Ministerium, we sponsor a week long vacation bible school for the community. This is a wonderful time for children to spend time together having fun while learning about God.
